ARX has released the latest version of its simple-to-use, highly scaleable electronic-signature appliance, CoSign.

CoSign v4 includes the following new features:

For global customers: Worldwide Verifiable Signatures–CoSign v4 allows users to choose between using CoSign’s built-in Certification Authority (CA) to automatically produce users' signing certificates, or ARX’s online (WebTrust) CA, to produce Worldwide Verifiable signing certificates.

For EU customers: CoSign SSCD (Secure Signature Creation Device) is built to meet stringent European Union legislation - The EU Directive 1999/93/EC on Electronic Signatures - by securely storing the users’ signing key inside the appliance on an array of smartcard chips certified under Common Criteria SSCD protection profile: CWA 14169.

For engineers: CoSign v4 offers support for registering multiple graphical signature images per user, allowing engineers to select the appropriate image (such as a professional seal or a personal signature) to be used when signing drawings and other documents.

For Customers / OEM partners/integrators/developers: CoSign Web Services allows rapid integration into Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based applications. This technology is seen as a key enabler of standards-based electronic signatures for organizations that need to integrate the signature and verification process into complex workflows (such as those based on the BPEL standard), web applications and other custom or OEM solutions.
The CoSign Web Services protocol is based on the latest standard drafts from the OASIS Digital Signature Services (DSS) Technical Committee of which ARX is a member.

For Oracle customers: CoSign v4 supports additional users directories including Oracle Internet Directory (OID) as well as other LDAP directories such as the iPlanet / Sun ONE Directory Server. Pre-release features, these add-on modules allow CoSign to seamlessly support Oracle customers (such as customers of Oracle Content DB) who use OID to provision their users.

"Our customers have voiced a broad range of requirements that focus on the need for worldwide verifiable signatures, Web Applications Services and compliance with new legislations,” says Gadi Aharoni, CEO at ARX. "We are pleased to be able to extend our product line to deliver a standards-based electronic signature solution offering these tremendous technical and economic benefits to our existing and future enterprise customers, OEM partners, developers and integrators."
